Joshua 4:1-11 First Lesson
1. When the entire nation had finished crossing over the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua:
2. “Select twelve men from the people, one from each tribe,
3. and command them, ‘Take twelve stones from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests’ feet stood, carry them over with you, and lay them down in the place where you camp tonight.’”
4. Then Joshua summoned the twelve men from the Israelites, whom he had appointed, one from each tribe.
5. Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on his shoulder, one for each of the tribes of the Israelites,
6. so that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’
7. then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off in front of the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the Israelites a memorial forever.”
8. The Israelites did as Joshua commanded. They took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Jordan, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, as the Lord told Joshua, carried them over with them to the place where they camped, and laid them down there.
9. (Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the covenant had stood; and they are there to this day.)
10. The priests who bore the ark remained standing in the middle of the Jordan, until everything was finished that the Lord commanded Joshua to tell the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua. The people crossed over in haste.
11. As soon as all the people had finished crossing over, the ark of the Lord, and the priests, crossed over in front of the people.

Acts 4:32-37 Second Lesson
32. Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
33. With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
34. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold.
35. They laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.
36. There was a Levite, a native of Cyprus, Joseph, to whom the apostles gave the name Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”).
37. He sold a field that belonged to him, then brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

1 Corinthians 3:1-9 Epistle
1. And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
2. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for solid food. Even now you are still not ready,
3. for you are still of the flesh. For as long as there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving according to human inclinations?
4. For when one says, “I belong to Paul,” and another, “I belong to Apollos,” are you not merely human?
5. What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord assigned to each.
6. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.
7. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
8. The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each.
9. For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.

Mark 6:32-44 Gospel
32. And they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
33. Now many saw them going and recognized them, and they hurried there on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them.
34. As he went ashore, he saw a great crowd; and he had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
35. When it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is now very late;
36. send them away so that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy something for themselves to eat.”
37. But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They said to him, “Are we to go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread, and give it to them to eat?”
38. And he said to them, “How many loaves have you? Go and see.” When they had found out, they said, “Five, and two fish.”
39. Then he ordered them to get all the people to sit down in groups on the green grass.
40. So they sat down in groups of hundreds and of fifties.
41. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and he divided the two fish among them all.
42. And all ate and were filled;
43. and they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish.
44. Those who had eaten the loaves numbered five thousand men. Jesus Walks on the Water
